Ak-Sai Valley

Ak-Sai Valley is a kind of "cold pole" of Kyrgyzstan. The valley is situated at the altitude of 3000 m above sea level.

Ak-Sai Valley is a kind of "cold pole" of Kyrgyzstan. Here was recorded the lowest temperature in the country (-56.3°C). The valley is situated at the altitude of 3000 m above sea level, in the border zone between the ridge At-Bashi and Torugart pass.

In Ak-Sai there are no large trees and shrubs, almost all of its territory is covered by low grass. It is a habitat of mountain Marco Polo sheep and ibex. In the valley there are several hunting bases. Also of interest is the ancient settlement of Neolithic man.
