Batken is the administrative center of Batken region. It is located in the south of the country, about 240 km from the city of Osh.
The altitude at which the city is situated is just over 1000 m above sea level. The population of Batken is about 25000 people. Batken has its own airport, where you will be able to fly in about 1 hour from Bishkek. The town is famous for its apricots growing all around. Their famous and unique taste is known by all residents of Kyrgyzstan.
Near the town there is a montain Aigul-Tash, on the slopes of which grows a very beautiful rare flower Ajgul. As Batken is the central town of the region, it’s convenient to start a journey to the gorges and mountains of Batken region from here.
