On the northern slope of Turkestan range there is Ai-Kel Lake, which means "the moon lake". The lake area is 0.82 sq. km. To see it, you need to go a long way, rising to a height of about 3000 m.

The lakeside consists of sheer cliffs, which are almost impossible to approach, so you can see the lake only through small passes in the spurs. Two streams flow into Ai-Kel. The water level rises in summer and subsides by winter, and ice covers the lake.

Ai-Kel Lake is a real treasure hidden in the highlands, which fascinates with its beauty and inaccessibility.
