Sary-Tash

In the east of Alay valley, at the altitude of 3150 m above sea level there is the village Sary-Tash. The population of it is just over 1.5 thousand people.

In the east of Alay valley, at the altitude of 3150 m above sea level there is the village Sary-Tash. The population of it is just over 1.5 thousand people. Sary-Tash is located close to the border with China and Tajikistan.

Through this settlement runs an important automobile road the Pamir Highway, which connects the city of Osh with the cities Khorog and Dushanbe in Tajikistan. To the north of Sary-Tash is Taldyk Pass (3615 m), to the south is Kyzyl-Art Pass (4250 m).

Another important transport artery that passes through the village of Sary-Tash is the European route E60 with the final destination in the village Irkeshtam.
