Amazing Frozen Waterfalls of Issyk-Kul
Dynamics and power of the roaring waterfall is fascinating. You can observe endlessly this phenomenon. However, in winter waterfalls freeze and turn into amazing sculptures of nature. From end of December to March you can enjoy these brilliant creations of nature in the gorges of the southern shore of Issyk-Kul lake.
Let’s get started with Barskoon gorge one of the most picturesque gprges of the southern shore. Driving along the serpentine mountain road you can contemplate a lot of glittering snow-capped peaks. There, in the heart of the gorge, you will see the picture that captivates the spirit, frozen waterfall with three ledges, which is popularly called "Tears of Snow Leopard".
Then move to Juuku gorge, which offers spectacular views of the glacier-giants. After seeing another frozen miracle, you can lie in geothermal springs and warm up from the cold winter.
Now we proceed to the Chon-Kyzyl-Suu gorge. We take strong horses and hit the road. There two wonderful frozen waterfalls are waiting for us: Sharkyratma height of 20 m in a narrow gorge and Shatyly - waterfalls cascade height of more than 100 meters surrounded by a pine forest.
The final point is Jeti-Oguz gorge, where we will visit another wonderful waterfall. Short time later climbing up the gorge you can see beautiful panorama of fantastic mountains, entirely covered with dark green carpet of the Tien Shan firs. Up there is the main beauty of this gorge - waterfalls "Maiden Tears"
