Kara-Suu Lake is located not far from Toktogul water reservoir, near Taktalyk ridge, at the altitude of about 2000 m above sea level.

The lake was formed in ancient times as a result of the collapse of the mountain into the hollow. The length of the lake is 6.5 km the average depth is about 90 m. On the shore of Kara-Suu Lake there grow Tien-Shan spruce, barberry, mountain ash and other plants.
Fascinating blue tint of the lake varies depending on time of a day, and you can look at it for hours.
