We invite to Horse Riding adventure in Kyrgyzstan. We’ll follow the footsteps of the famous traveler Marco Polo through a beautiful mountain pass on The Great Silk Road. This magnificent journey will take you to the high plateaus, which separated East and West in ancient times. Thanks to agile kyrgyz horses you can walk freely along the rivers and mountains, valleys and gorges.

You will meet the nomads, whose far from cities allowed them to maintain their culture in the last 2000 years. This horse track will enhance your joy of feelings being a rider; you’ll feel like a nomad and you’ll be fascinated by the nature of Kyrgyzstan.

Day
1

Manas airport - Bishkek - Karakol, up to 420 km.

Arrival at Manas airport. Moving to the guest house to take a shower and have breakfast. In the morning we will visit the capital of Kyrgyzstan. In the afternoon we drive east along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake to arrive in Karakol. Dinner and night in guest house.

2

Karakol - Kyzyl-Suu, up to 60 km.

To understand better the opening of Kyrgyzstan in the 19th century, we go to The Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral and Dungan Mosque. Then we go to the market, where you can taste the meat sticks "shashlyk" or traditional dish Ashlyam-Fu. Also you can buy beautiful dried fruits, honey or lard. After a rest, we hit the road to Kyzyl-Suu village. On the way we stop at the Jeti-Oguz Gorge with panoramic view to red mountains. In the afternoon we arrive in Kyzyl-Suu and meet with the manufacturer of traditional yurts. Night in a guest house.

Kyzyl-Suu- Juuku Gorge, up to 50 km.

After breakfast we will drive to Juuku Gorge. Picnic in the mountains. Then we stay in Juuku. Night in tents.

4 - 6

Horse Riding in Juuku Gorge, up to 15 km.

Passing the Juuku pass (3800 m.) We will meet with the shepherd and the local nomads who hold us in an amazingly beautiful place - Syrts. Night in tents.

Horse Riding to Kumtor Gorge, up to 12 km.

We descend into Kumtor Gorge. At the depth of the gorge on 3 meters over the ground is icy ground, we will see a huge gold mine, the ridge of Ak-Shyyrak. Night in tents.

Horse Riding to Ak-Bel Pass, up to 11 km.

We pass the Ak-Shyyrak ridge (“white side”) through the pass Ak-Bel (“white back”). Between the traces of hunters and seekers of gold, we find the way of caravan. Night in tents.

Horse Riding to Ishtik Pass, up to 12 km.

We resume the path and go to an old caravanserai Ishtik, passing the Ishtik small pass and stay in the camp. Take rest and take a bath at the end of the day. Night in the tent camp.

Horse Riding to Tez Canyon, up to 15 km.

In the morning we will ride towards the Chinese border, will see the most beautiful view of the serpentine, which opens on the border with China. Then go back to the river Ishtik and enter to Tez Canyon to get to a small farm. Night in tent.

Horse Riding to Uch-Koshkon village, up to 14 km.

We'll ride along the south side of Ak-Shyyrak ridge and reach the village of Uch-Koshkon. Night at the locals’ house.

Uch-Koshkon - Ak-Shyyrak, up to 13 km.

After 10 km we arrive in Ak-Shyyrak. The whole day ride through a tiny village, which lost among the Tien-Shan mountains. We’ll see yaks. Arrival to the yurt camp. Night in a yurt.

Ak-Shyyrak - Tamga, up to 190 km.

We leave the horses and head for Barskoon (Arabel) Syrts, Kara-Sai. Dinner at a local yak herder. Moving in the direction of Issyk-Kul Lake, we move Suuk Pass (4021 m), further Barskoon Pass (3754 m) and arriving in Tamga. Night in a guest house.

Tamga - Bishkek, up to 320 km.

In the morning we arrive in Bishkek. Time to buy souvenirs. Night at the hotel or at a local guest house.

Manas airport - Bishkek

Transfer to Airport Manas. Fly home.

Notes

This tour is designed for advanced riders. During the tour the average height reaches 3600 m. Weather conditions can be difficult. We advise you to make the proper equipment in the event of storms, snow, rain or hail. Kyrgyz visa is not required for citizens of the following countries: CIS, the Euro Union, the U.S., Switzerland and Japan. A passport valid at least for 6 months is needed. Compiled program is exemplary. It can be changed due to schedule flights, weather conditions or your individual order.
