Combined tour to Celestial Mountains

We invite you to travel around two beautiful lakes: Issyk-Kul Lake and Son-Kul Lake in combined tour with Trekking , Cultural and Off-Road activities.. First we will hike to Jeti-Oguz Gorge, Jyrgalan Valley and Ala-Kul Lake. After we will drive to Son-Kul and meet real kyrgyz nomads in their yurts. Also we will visit authentic villages and small towns by the our route.

Day
1

Airport Manas – Ala-Archa – Bishkek, up to 100 km.

Meeting at Manas airport and moving to Bishkek, having a rest few hours and transfer to Ala-Archa National Park . The National Park is an alpine national park in the Tien-Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan and located approximately 40 km. south of the capital city of Bishkek. The park, which includes the gorge of the Ala-Archa River and the mountains surrounding it, is a popular destination point for weekend picnickers, hikers, horse trekkers, skiers as well as mountain climbers looking for challenging ice, rock and mixed routes. Walking around and picnic. Back way to Bishkek. Dinner at local restaurant.

Bishkek - Karakol, up to 420 km.

We are moving to Karakol via Boom Gorge where the Great Silk Road caravans used to pass. Meeting with mountain guide and preparation for first 3 days trekking. Accommodation and dinner at hotel 3*.

Karakol – Jeti-Oguz – Kyzyl-Jar, hiking 4-5 hours

We will come to Jeti-Oguz Gorge, where you will see famous Broken Heart and Seven Bulls rocks, walk in canyon of Dragon and from there you will come to 1st place for camp. That's place name is Kyzyl-Jar. Bonfire nightly. Overnight in tents.

Kyzyl-Jar – Chelpek's Lakes, hiking 4 hours

You will hike until small lakes in Chelpek valley through meadows and forest. Overnight in tents.

Chelpek's Lakes – Karakol, hiking 5 hours

You will descent down to Karakol by Chelpek Valley. Dinner and accommodation in hotel.

Karakol – Jyrgalan Valley, up to 120 km.

Day trip to Jyrgalan Valley, where will walk to Tulpar-Tash and walk in the forest around the village. Transfer back to Karakol and start preparation for 4 daysTtrekking to Ala-Kul Lake. Dinner and accommodation in hotel.

Karakol – Sirota Hut, hiking 6-7 hours

Meeting in hotel and transfer to Karakol Gorge for 4 days trekking, whence we start our hiking tour until “Sirota” hut by Kurgaktor gorge. Serebryannikov Valeriy Nikolaevich, famous guide, instructor and alpinist, founded this place. This place suits for camping. Overnight in tents.

Sirota Hut – Ala-Kul Lake – Keldike Gorge, hiking 6-7 hours

We continue hiking to Ala-Kul Lake (3533m). Ascent from Sirota hut to the lake takes approximately 2-3 hours. The lake is 2.3 km wide and 700 meters across, frozen from October to May and and surrounded by peaks and glaciers, you will have an amazing view of Terskey Ala-Too mountain peaks chain. The descent from the pass by the rocky path to the lake and continue along the coast to the waterfall, flowing from the lake. Dinner and camping in Keldike gorge. (3200m). Overnight in tents.

Keldike Valley – Altyn-Arashan Gorge, hiking 4-5 hours

Our next point is Altyn-Arashan Gorge (3 hours). Extremely picturesque views of Altyn-Arashan attract large number of tourists. Altyn-Arashan resort is famous for hot springs. You will have an opportunity to bath in the pool with radon water. Dinner and accommodation guesthouse or yurt camp.

Altyn-Arashan Gorge - Karakol, hiking 3-4 hours

Morning excursion to hot wild springs. Walking to “Lastochkino gnezdo” (swallow’s nest), Queen Frog and heart shape bathes. Walking down by Altyn-Arashan Gorge to Ak-Suu village. Close to noon car will pick you up and bring you to place of your stay in Karakol. City tour in Karakol afternoon. Dinner and accommodation in hotel.

Karakol – Jeti-Oguz – Fairytale – Bokonbaevo, up to 200 km.

At that day we will visit famous places as Jeti-Oguz Gorge, where you could see Broken Heart and Seven Bulls rocks, further we will continue our trip to Skazka (Fairytale) Canyon. Amongst the weird rock formations there is a ridge, which resembles two walls of fortification, something like the Great Wall of China, rising vertically out of the surrounding sandstone. Looking around and applying your imagination, it is also to see formations, which resemble other structures with arches and columns. Arriving to Bokonbaevo village, accommodation and dinner at yurt camp Bel-Tam on the Shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.

Bokonbaevo – Son-Kul Lake, up to 250 km.

That day we will have yurt show, masters in Kyzyl-Tuu village will demonstrate and show how they are producing Yurts. Kyzyl-Tuu is famous for producing Kyrgyz Yurts, half of that village is working in producing of Yuts and exporting to abroad. Further moving to Son-Kul Lake. In summer some of the local people who live in the villages, leave their homes to go up to the green and luscious meadows of Son-Kul Lake. Here during the warm summer months, they graze their cattle in the summer pasture live and in small farmsteads, which are called jailoo. You could see rest of real nomads only Son-Kul Lake, men all day long they ride horses and graze the cattle, which they collected from close villages. Women taking care of children and do housework: clean, cook, bake bread, make delicious butter and other dairy products from cow and horse milk. In the summer pasture, almost all the food is of natural, local products: meat, milk, butter and airan (local yogurt). Here you can see a lot of horses that graze and breed on their own. These noble animals are a particularly nice fit into the Alpine-like meadows. Accommodation and dinner at Yurt camp on Son-Kul lake.

Son-Kul lake – Kyzyl-Oi village, up to 150 km.

We will have 3 hours horseback riding to top of mountain in order to see panoramic view to Son-Kul Lake and then after lunch we proceed further to Kyzyl-Oi village via Kara-Keche pass, which is on the altitude of the 3384 m. This pass is popular for cyclists and off-road lovers. Kyzyl-Oi is a mountain village located at the altitude of about 1800 meters above sea level in the valley of the mighty river Kekemeren. Here you can see an extraordinary landscape of majestic mountains surrounding the village. Accommodation and dinner in family CBT guest house in Kyzyl-Oi. Big groups will be divided to few guesthouses.

Kyzyl-Oi – Bishkek, up to 250 km.

We proceed to natural treasure of Inner Tien-Shan, to Suusamyr Valley. Suusamyr is one of the best grasslands in Kyrgyzstan. The pass attracts many alpinists, ski lovers and simply people who love fresh mountain air. Further, our road will pass through majestic Too-Ashu Pass, it lies at the altitude of 3400 m. That road connecting the north and south capitals. You could see amazing landscapes and good few to Suusamyr valley. Arrival to Bishkek. Festive dinner in ethno restaurant Supara and folk show. Accommodation in hotel 3*.

Bishkek – Manas Airport, up to 30 km.

Transfer to Manas Airport. Fly home.

Notes

This program is for people who can go on foot for 6-7 hours per day. Kyrgyz visa is not required for citizens of the following countries: CIS, EU, the U.S.A., Switzerland and Japan. (www.mfa.kg). A passport valid at least for 6 months is needed. Compiled program is exemplary. It can be changed due to schedule flights, weather conditions or your individual order.
