We invite you to hike and horseback ride in reserve areas, to learn interesting facts about national customs, to see pristine nature hidden in the mountains of Tien-Shan, to explore surroundings of the famous Lake Issyk-Kul (one of the largest and deepest lakes in the world.), discover the Land of Nomads - the Lake Son-Kul and the Lake Ala-Kul. Most of our route will be held on The Great Silk Road which was the golden period in the development of cultural exchange for the peoples living on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Day
1
Osh airport - Arslanbob, up to 175 km.

Meeting with guide at Osh airport. Direct transfer to village of Arslanbob. We will have here a Horse Riding into the biggest walnut forest in the world. By the way stop near Arslanbob Waterfall. Have a picnic. Back to the village and accommodation in the local guest house. Dinner and night in guest house.

2
Arslanbob - Kazarman Pass - Lake Son-Kul, up to 350 km.

After breakfast we will drive through the mountain road to Kazarman Pass (3100 m.). Stop for lunch in village of Kazarman. Continue to drive through few mountain passes and amazing summer pastures with nomads to Lake Son-Kul. We will see Moldo-Ashuu mountains at 3200 m. Arrival in Son-Kul. Dinner and accommodation at yurt camp - nomad house.

3
Lake Son-Kul– Kalmak-Ashu Pass - Bokonbaevo, up to 230 km.

After breakfast we will have horse riding walk to panorama of the lake. Continue to drive through Kalmak-Ashu Pass (3400 m.) to the second trail of the Great Silk Road - Torugart. Picnic on the way. Visiting Orto-Tokoy Water Reservoir and south shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. Arrival in village of Bokonbaevo. Dinner and night in the guest house.

4
Bokonbaevo - Jeti-Oguz Gorge - Karakol, up to 170 km.

Today is another huge day, full of spectacular sceneries. After breakfast we continue to drive on southern shore of the Lake Issyk-Kul. Visiting Jeti-Oguz Gorge ( 7 bulls valley). Arrival to summer pasture of Kok-Jaiyk (jailoo). Walk to Maiden Tears Waterfall. Picnic on jailoo. Explore surroundings and meeting with eagle hunter - Berkutchi. Continue to drive to Karakol. Dinner and accommodation in the guest house.

Trek to Ala-Kul Lake, camping at Sirota

Transfer to the point of departure, from Karakol town to Karakol gorge till the first bridge, whence we start our Trekking tour until “Sirota” camp.  Karakol Gorge is located 9 km to the south from Karakol city with total length 40 km and cuts the slopes of Terskey Ala-Too. The slopes of the Karakol Gorge and  Karakol river bank are covered with thickets of buckthorn, barberry, wild rose on a background of emerald green steppe grasslands. On the way to Alps Camp in several hours you will proceed from the steppe foothills to mountain forests, woodlands, to subalpine and alpine meadows and even to  the realm of eternal snow with bare rocks and glaciers. Camping nearby Sirota camp. This place was created by Serebryannikov Valeriy Nikolaevich, famous guide, instructor and alpinist . This place suits for camping.

6
Trek to Ala-Kul Lake, camping at Keldike Gorge

After breakfast we continue hiking to Lake Ala-Kul (3532 m.). Ascent from Sirota camp to the lake takes approximately 3 hours. The lake is 2.3 km wide and 700 metres across, frozen from October to May and and surrounded by peaks and glaciers, you will have an amazing view of Terskey Ala-Too mountain peaks chain.  The descent from the pass by the rocky path to the lake and continue along the coast to the waterfall, flowing from the lake. Dinner and camping  in Keldike Gorge. (3200 m.).

Trek to Ala-Kul Lake - Alatyn-Arashan Gorge

After breakfast descent to Altyn-Arashan Gorge approximately in 3-4 hours. (Golden springs). Slopes of the gorge are covered by pine and leafy forests. The gorge is famous for it’s curative Hot Springs of Altyn-Arashan. You will have an opportunity to relax in hot springs with radon water, to take a shower and ride a horse.  After  lunch you may relax  in hot springs and then we come down to the beginning of the Altyn-Arashan Gorge, whence you will be taken to the town. Dinner and accommodation in the guest house.

8
Karakol - Lake Issyk-Kul - Bishkek, up to 420 km.

After breakfast transfer to Bishkek through the northern shore of the Lake Issyk-Kul - the second biggest mountain lake in the world. Possible to stop for swimming. Lunch on the way. Arrival in Bishkek, dinner and accommodation in the guest house. Next day transfer to airport. Fly home.

Notes

This program is for people who can go on foo (hike)t for 5-7 hours per day. Tour pricing can change depending on customer’s needs. We can tailor the tour to your requirements: add or subtract number of days, change any itinerary and program, add excursions, activities and a number of other additional extras.
Difficulty: This route suits for people with good health and physical training, because the route consists of long transition over founderous terrain, sharp fluctuations in temperature and climbing to a height of 3532 meters above sea level.
Conditions: It’s necessary to take with you warm clothes, spare clothes and shoes, sunglasses, sun block. If you have specific disease, you have to bring your own medicaments with you.
